Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of the Canberra SEO Agency website and the terms on which we provide our services. Please read them so you know where you stand with us. If you engage us for work, a separate proposal or agreement may add to these terms, and where it does, the specific agreement takes priority.
01Acceptance
By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Canberra SEO Agency, and "you" means anyone who uses the site or engages us for services. These terms take effect from the date shown above and apply each time you visit.
02Website use
You may use this website for lawful purposes and to learn about our services. You agree not to misuse the site, which includes not attempting to disrupt it, not scraping or copying it at scale, and not using it to break any law. We may change, pause or remove parts of the site at any time without notice, and we are not responsible if a part of the site is temporarily unavailable.
The content on this site is provided as general information about SEO and our services. It is not formal advice for your specific situation, and you should not treat a blog guide as a substitute for a proposal scoped to your business.
03Service engagements
When you engage us for work, the specifics are set out in a proposal or agreement we provide before we start. That document describes the scope, the deliverables and the fee, and it sits alongside these terms.
- Scope. We deliver the work described in your proposal. Anything outside that scope is a change we will quote separately before doing.
- Cooperation. Effective SEO needs timely access and input from you, such as website access, content approvals and answers to questions. Delays on that side can affect timing.
- Changes. Either of us can propose a change to the scope. Changes are agreed in writing before they take effect.
04Payment terms
Fees, billing frequency and payment timing are set out in your proposal or agreement. Ongoing services are generally billed monthly, and project work is billed as agreed for that project.
Invoices are payable by the date shown on them. If an account falls overdue, we may pause work until it is brought up to date. Any specific late-payment terms will be stated in your agreement.
05Intellectual property
The content, branding and design of this website belong to us, and you may not reproduce them without permission. That is separate from the work we deliver to you as a client.
You own the work we deliver. Once a deliverable is produced and paid for, the content, pages and assets we create for your business are yours to keep and use, and they stay with you even if our engagement ends. We may keep our own general know-how, methods and templates, and we may reference the work in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.
06No ranking guarantees
No SEO provider can lawfully or honestly guarantee a specific Google ranking, a set amount of traffic, or a particular position by a particular date. Search engines are controlled by third parties whose systems change constantly and are outside anyone's control. Any provider who promises guaranteed rankings is either misleading you or planning to game the system in a way that puts your site at risk.
What we do commit to is the work itself: a sound strategy, quality delivery, honest reporting and steady effort against your goals. We stand behind our methods, not a number we cannot control. This is the same position stated across our website, and it is deliberate.
07Liability and consumer law
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected to the site or our services is limited, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost opportunities. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited under that law, it is limited to resupplying the services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.
08Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, and you agree to the jurisdiction of the courts of the ACT for any matter arising from them.
09Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated terms. For anything about these terms, or to discuss a piece of work, reach us through our contact page or at hello@canberraseoagency.au.
